It is a common confusion for a young learner to have this problem of losing the rhythm when trying to play with slurs.
Let’s overcome this problem by practicing together.
Shinozaki Bk 1, no. 102 is as below:
Step 1: Sing and clap. First, let’s clap the rhythm only counting 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3…. Please note the time signature is 3/4, it is NOT 4/4. Then, you can now sing with A, B, C or do re, mi, clapping the rhythm at the same time.
Step 2: Play with your violin, but without slurs.
Step 3: Play as printed, but keeping the rhythm exactly the same as you played at Step 2. By working with the recording it is much easier, isn’t it. 🙂
For no.103 also, you can take the same steps as above.
I look forward to watch and listen your playing at your next lesson.
Happy Practicing !
